XANTHE
Des Moines Facilitator
I am a wife, mom of 3 boys, Birth Doula, and a self-proclaimed lactivist ready to assist my community! My mother breastfed all her children and that’s what inspired me to do the same. In 2013, I had a breast reduction and was worried that it would interfere with me being able to produce milk and nurse in the future. The Surgeon told me that he couldn’t guarantee that I’d be able to breastfeed, but that it was a fifty/fifty chance. Fast forward a couple years later, I had my first child. After a bit of a struggle the first couple weeks of him being born, all the mixed advice, the soreness, the tears, the positivity, the negativity; I finally was able to breastfeed with no special assistance! And it’s been smooth sailing ever since! I am currently nursing my third child and thankful that I have been able to do so! I just want to help other women like myself who want to breastfeed, but need a little motivation and positivity. Blessings
