BROOKLYN

Greater Charlotte Facilitator

Brooklyn is a full-spectrum doula, black birth keeper, and holistic health champion. She specializes in nurturing black families as they transition through the pregnancy and postpartum period and provides a supportive environment to navigate those spaces. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from UNCC as well as a certificate of completion from JCSU’s Lactation Consultant Training Program and became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2022.  She also spent time studying pregnancy and postpartum nutrition & herbalism, specifically in the U.S. southern tradition. Though she decided not to pursue a career in psychology to focus on her passion for birth work, she stresses the importance of mental health, especially in postpartum care. Her ultimate goal in her work is to encourage bodily autonomy and support parents in cultivating their ideal birth, postpartum, and breastfeeding experiences on their own terms through active listening, informed guidance, and veneration of the parent/baby dyad.
