What is a Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator?
A Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator is a person who reflects their local community and is an Advocate for Human Milk. Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitators share in Chocolate Milk Cafe's mission to restore the legacy of human milk feeding as normal and the positive long term implications for the Black/African American Community and throughout the Diaspora.
A Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator is Certified through Chocolate Milk Café National, Inc. as a Peer to Peer support person who is responsible for providing a safe and sacred space within their community for families of the African Diaspora to receive support surrounding Lactation that includes but is not limited to; breastfeeding, chestfeeding, bodyfeeding, and human milk feeding.
What is the role of a Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator?
The role of a Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator is to help guide group discussions and help navigate the conversations during their local Chocolate Milk Café Meetings. Facilitators are also there to encourage members to support one another and share their experiences. Our purpose is to monitor the discussions and provide members of our community with evidence based information around lactating and human milk, as needed.
A Certified Chocolate Milk Café Facilitator is expected to support a parent wherever they are on their lactating journey and provide cultural congruent care when addressing any challenges or concerns.
